Hi there! I’m Katie, the founder of One-Room Education. I built this platform from the ground up to help you—and this incredible world we live in—come together under the principles of freedom and prosperity through education for all. I’m so passionate about this mission that, alongside being a homemaker, stay-at-home wife, and mom, I’ve also become a web designer, graphic designer, podcaster, blogger, tech support, merch creator, and anything else needed to make One-Room Education as valuable to you as possible.

I’ve always loved learning, which led me to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, I worked in public and private schools as a daily and long-term substitute teacher.

In 2015, after three years outside the education world, I decided to launch a private tutoring business. I missed working with kids and felt I wasn’t reaching my full potential, even though I had become the lead trainer in my department while working in the title industry.

Over the years, from college through today, I’ve worked with hundreds of students, helping them achieve academic success with nearly 100% of them hitting a solid mid-B or higher—if they stick to the plan! I truly enjoy working one-on-one with students, teaching them how to work with their learning differences, not against them.

In 2020, with everything happening in schools and its impact on our nation’s youth, I knew I needed to reach more than a handful of students each semester. That’s when the idea for One-Room Education was born.

As more students came to me struggling with basic academics—especially in English, History, and Science—after online classes, I knew I had to do something bigger. I told my husband I wanted to help more students and empower their parents to stand up for what they believe in.

After careful consideration, I officially founded One-Room Education in January 2022 with the goal of empowering parents, students, and teachers to take back control of their education and create a more free and prosperous future for all.
